Intercytex is focused on cell-based therapies. One major product (ICX-PRO) is designed to stimulate repair in chronic dermal wounds. It consists of two components: a diffuse population of allogeneic virally-validated fibroblasts and a fibrin-based matrix delivery system. Principal indications for this product are venous stasis and diabetic ulcers.

The second product of the company is a next generation of hair transplants to treat hair loss, which combines the culture and expansion of follicular cells which are injected into the scalp underneath the epidermis of the skin to induce formation of new hair follicles in-situ (ICX-TRC).

A third product, ICX-SKN, is developed as a true skin replacement.

Intercytex has two products (hair transplants, wound healing) currently in clinical development, ICX-PRO and ICX-TRC. ICX-PRO has entered a multi-centre Phase III clinical trial in 2005. Results of the Phase III study that involves 200 patients are expected by the end of 2006. ICX-TRC is tested in Phase I trials.
