Research of bone and cartilage damages using horse models

The FZMB Research Centre for Medical Technology and Biotechnology was founded in 1994 as non-profit association and has in the meantime become one of the largest employers of the region. The FZMB is DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 certified. Main focus is on medical technological, biotechnological and veterinary research.

The Tissue Engineering group of the FZMB is working with horse models to simulate diseases on bone and cartilage. Research involves the analysis and culturing of stem cells and bone marrow in order to develop artificial, degradable carrier materials. New cell-therapeutic methods may help to suppress articular inflammation in a physiological manner.
