Development of proprietary methods of isolating, characterising and manufacturing human hepatocytes directly from liver tissue. These hepatocytes have been accepted by the FDA for use in early stage clinical trials. The company is also developing methods to expand and differentiate hepatic progenitor cells. Vesta’s “Cell Products for Researchers Programme” offers hepatocytes, total RNA, and microsomes to other researchers.


The FDA has allowed the company’s Investigational New Drug (IND) application for a phase I clinical trial of cryopreserved, allogenic human liver cells for the treatment of patients with cirrhosis and end-stage liver disease.
