Biomet Merck was established in 1998 as a joint venture of Biomet Inc. (USA) and Merck KGaA, Darmstadt and created one of the market leading orthopaedic companies in Europe. In March 2004, the Biomet Merck Group was renamed upon the acquisition of Merck’s 50% interest in the parties’ European joint venture and became “Biomet Europe”. The Biomet Europe Group is headquartered in Dordrecht (The Netherlands) and represented by subsidiaries in 18 European countries, one of them also in Germany, of which the address is given below.
