Vistagen is a privately-held company founded in 1998 by Dr. Snodgrass, who was Chief Scientific Officer of Progenitor, Inc. The company is a leader in applied stem cell technologies for rapid drug lead prioritisation.
Early 2004, the company has received a $379,000 phase 1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant entitled Development of 4-Chlorokynurenine to treat epilepsy. Upon acquiring Artemis Neuroscience the company also received access to its lead drug candidate AV-101.
