Omniflow II is a biosynthetic vascular prosthesis made of composite material. Its structure is the result of natural collagen laid down on a polyester mesh endoskeleton. It has regulatory approval in Australia, Canada and Europe. The company’s Flonova is a pure biological material and is the first ever vascular graft made from a biological conduit that is not of vascular origin. A coronary bypass graft utilising endothelial cell seeding is currently in development.

Clinical studies from two European centres have compared the results of Omniflow II with alternative graft materials in peripheral revascularisation and long term vascular access for haemodialysis. Excellent results were achieved. Recent in vitro studies have demonstrated that the endothelium grown in small diameter “Bio Nova” prostheses was well retained and firmly adherent.
