The background of STEMCO’s technology lies in the measurement of aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), an intracellular enzyme that is highly expressed in haematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
By means of ALDEFLUOR™, researchers are able to identify stem and progenitor cells due to their high expression of ALDH when using flow cytometry. ALDEFLUOR™ products are distributed worldwide though StemCell Technologies.
ALDECOUNT™ is a labelling tool for adult stem cells using ALDEFLUOR™ technology.
ALDESORT™ was developed for the purification and sorting of stem cells using a fluorescence activated cell sorter (FACS).
