Zimmer was founded in 1927 by Justin O. Zimmer in Warsaw, Indiana, where the company’s headquaters are still located. Zimmer has a staff of 6,500 people, with operations in more than 24 countries around the world and sells products in more than 100 countries.

Zimmer is designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing reconstructive and spinal implants, trauma and related orthopaedic surgical products. In 2003, Zimmer aquired its spine division that offers a wide range of services and products from surgical implants and instrumentation, dental tools and materials, as well as cardiovascular and orthopaedic devices and procedures.

Zimmer is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the SWX Swiss Exchange under the symbol ZMW.
