Disc-O-Tech has developed an expandable spinal implant system for use in lumbar spinal fusion procedures. In combination with a special delivery system, the implant can be introduced into the prepared intervertebral space in a reduced configuration of 5 mm diameter. After the insertion, the titanium implant can be expanded (up to 15 mm diameter) to fit into the disc space. This minimally invasive procedure reduces tissue dissection and neurological and infection risks.
The SKy Bone Expander System invented by Disc-O-Tech is a polymer device that is intended for kyphoplasty for patients suffering from osteoporosis. The instrument (diameter of 4.8mm) is inserted into the collapsed vertebra, positioned and expanded. The resulting void (14 - 16 mm) can be filled with cement or bone filler materials to form a reconstructed, strengthened vertebra.
Disc-O-Tech also offes a wide range of special fiaxation nails and pins for several complicated fractures and traumata.
All devices are CE marked and cleared for marketing by the FDA.
