Development of stem cell therapies for human diseases
The Centre for Regenerative Medicine was founded at the University of Edinburgh in December 2005 and is directed by Professor Ian Wilmut.
Fundamental research pursued at the University’s Institute of Stem Cell Research (ISCR) and Roslin Institute is being applied for the development of new treatments for human diseases.
The new centre collaborates with the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and NHS Lothian.

The Centre of Regenerative Medicine is focused on the development of medical therapies for the treatment of human diseases, such as cancer, liver disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes and spinal cord injury. These therapies are based on stem cell research.
