University of Connecticut - Center for Regenerative Biology
Development of new cell types, tissues and organs for the replacement for diseased tissues
Over the last several years the University of Connecticut has investigated the area of animal cloning and related reproductive biotechnologies.
In January 2001, CBR was founded as a centre concentrating on regenerative biology and medicine at the University of Connecticut.

The CBR’s aim is to develop new cell types, tissues or organs for the replacement of diseased tissues caused by disorders like diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and many cancers.
The research programmes focus on developmental biology including fertilisation and preimplantation development, stem cells, muscle development and neurogenesis; genetics and regenerative biology including transgenesis/therapeutical cloning, stem cell differentiation and tissue engineering.
