AnaMar Medical focuses on the sector of connective tissue repair by developing molecular markers for the diagnosis, prognosis and therapy of joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA).
Their products target the detection of cartilage destructions as an indication of RA and OA and its phase of progression by blood tests. A physical response of destructive cartilage and damaged joint is the diffusion of molecule fragments into the cartilage surrounding fluid and into the bloodstream. AnaMar’s technology is based on a Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein (COMP) that belongs to this group of monitoring molecule fragments.
AnaMar’s first product, Human COMP ELISA 14-1006-71, is a method for the detection of COMP in the patient’s serum.
