Prof. Reubinoff and his team have developed considerable IP, which is covered by numerous patent applications. The patent applications are owned by ES Cell International. The company is developing human embryonic stem cell-derived cell therapy. When the stem cells are injected into the brain of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease, the patient will generate dopaminergic neurons. Such dopaminergic therapeutics have been shown to be effective for Parkinson’s disease.
