Q-Med started in 1987 with the aim to realise the ideas of its founder, Bengt Ågerup,and offered in 1996 their first product based on own technology.
Today the company has approximately 540 coworkers and a production facility located in Uppsala.
The Q-Med share is listed on the O-list of the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The achievement of Q-Med grounds on the proprietary technology NASHA (Non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid).
This technology is the basis of the company’s products used to treat wrinkels as well as osteoarthritis of the knee and hip (Duralone®), vesicoureteral reflux in children (Deflux®) or stress urinary incontinence in women (Zuidex™).
Q-Med has also initiated several studies, including the testing of Macrolane for minor breast augmentations.
