Theregen’s lead product Anginera™ targets the fields of regenerative medicine, especially cardiovascular and vascular diseases. Anginera™ is a cell-based wound care system, e.g. used in cardiac surgery. Patches comprising fibroblast cells are placed on injured vessels and diseased tissue of the heart muscle effecting the stimulation of new vessel growth by secreted cytokines and growth factors.

In July 2005, Theregen started a Phase I safety trial for the use of Anginera™ in coronary arterial bypass graft surgery. This study is currently undergoing clinical testing.
