American Communications Enterprises, Inc. finalised the acquisition of NeoGenomics, Inc. (NGNM) in 2000. One year later, the name was changed to NeoGenomics Inc., reflecting the new direction of the company to that of a genome-based medical research company.

NeoGenomics is a company providing cytogenetic and molecular biology diagnostic testing services to the oncology and perinatology sectors of the healthcare industry. The company also operates in the diagnosis of women’s diseases, such as ovarian cancer, as well as diseases in prenates and infants.
