RenaMed’s core technology is used for the isolation and expansion of ex vivo human progenitor cells. This technology includes methods for growing specific renal stem cell isolates in monolayers on hollow fibres using a proprietary system called Renal Assist Device (RAD). The hollow fibres support the cellular system, allowing the transport of essential cell products and nutrients, and preventing the cells from entering the circulatory system.

The company has completed its Phase I/II FDA trials on the Renal Assist Device (RAD) which is intended to treat acute renal failure (ARF).
