Norwegian Center for Stem Cell Research
Scientific network carrying out basic and applied research on stem cells, in particular the use of stem cells for regenerative medicine
The centre was founded in 2003 after having received a strategic research grant from the Research Council of Norway. The members include the groups of Professor Stefan Krauss (Rikshospitalet and University of Oslo: neural stem cells), Steinar Funderud (Radiumhopsitalet and University of Oslo: haematopoietic stem cells), Jan Brinchmann (Rikshospitalet: human stem cells), Torstein Egeland (Rikshospitalet: haematopoetic stem cells), Joel Glover (University of Oslo: spinal cord regeneration), Tor Lea (Rikshospitalet: proteomics), Ola Myklebost (Radiumhopsitalet: Microarray), Luisa Luna (Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience: genome maintenance), Gunnar Kvalheim (Radiumhospitalet: Mesenchymal stem cells), Ole Laerum (Haukeland University Hospital) and Anders Sundan (Norwegian University of Science and Technology).
